A great reason to take a drive

It’s been a few weeks since we got out on a Saturday, and this weekend we really enjoyed it thanks to the stunningly good weather. We even drove a little out of our way to make sure we took a back road to a sale instead of running along Interstate 83. Beautiful day, indeed.

Despite all that running around, we only found a few items worth mentioning.

The Fisher-Price train is a vintage 1970s item. We got it for $2 and will look good on the shelf with our other train-related doo-dads. The train is accompanied by a Hobgoblin action figure that was just 10 cents. Hobgoblin is a Spider-Man villain, by the way.

It was another good day for stocking up on CDs. We picked up albums from Madonna, Tori Amos, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and U2.

A few weeks ago we pointed out that some reference books are now cheaper than their online counterparts. This book is from the same Golden Guide series and covers animals found in ponds. We bet there isn’t a phone app that covers “What’s that bug in the pond?”

Our best deal of the day was a lot of girls clothes we purchased. Basically, we went to the sale, checked out the clothes and asked “How much for everything?” The clothes covered several years, and we knew we would need them soon enough. In the end, we got about 35 to 40 pieces for $20.
