Creative uses for yard sale finds
At the store the other day, we spotted “100 Ideas: Flea Market Style,” a Better Homes & Gardens special on the newsstand.
The 96-page magazine offers some great ideas on what to do with all those odd trinkets you bring home from yard sales and flea markets. Some of the ideas are simply brilliant.
- No. 19: Turning an old furniture caster into a bookend.
- No. 49: Take an old sled and use it as the kitchen hanger your pots and pans.
- No. 77: Mounting old wire bed frames from your porch. Add a mattress and a cover and you’ve got the ultimate relaxation device.
Have you done anything like this? If so, send us a picture!
And we can’t gush enough about “100 Ideas,” it’s simply packed full of inspiration and sure to make you look again at that pile of junk your neighbor is selling.
WHAT YOU FOUND
We got a comment from Deborah D. about her finds last week:
“Boy, did I do good. Found a large dark wood longaberger canister basket with insider canister,l id and the woodcraft lid $10.00. I also found 2 pairs of Silpada earrings for $1.00 a piece, 2 Pampered Chef mixing bowls with the lids for $3.00 for the pair. A genuine Coach large hobo bag for $10.00 great condition and some very pretty vintage costume jewelry. Everyone doesn’t call me the yardsale queen for nothing.”
Congrats on the great finds. It’s warms our souls to know we have actual royalty reading our little blog!
