Best bets Sept. 16-17

If you’re not going to the York Fair and want something cheap to do this weekend with free parking, here are the best bets from The York Dispatch classifieds.

* In the Dover area, the Andover neighborhood is having a community yard sale through Saturday starting at 8 a.m. This sale was rescheduled because of all the rain last week.

* Huge indoor yard sale at the East Berlin Area Community Center, 405 North Ave.. The sale runs Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. The ad states you can fill a bag Friday for $5 or you can wait until Saturday and fill a bag for $3.  They will also feature chicken corn soup. Yummy!

* One day only sale on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 30 East Crone Rd off the 83N Emigsville exit. The ad boasts this is the one sale everyone waits for with great stuff and great prices. No early birds. This sale features antique furniture, antique toys, a porcelain barber chair w/headrest and razor strap (this is the first time I have ever seen anything like this at a yard sale), oak corner cupboard, quilts, country crafts, barnwood items and lumber. Look for orange signs.

Friday and Saturday both call for sunny skies with fall like temperatures in the 60s each day. Beautiful weather for yard sales and no rain. It’s about time we have some great weather for yard sales. Enjoy!
